DRIPPING SPRINGS ( Austin Business Journal ) - James Kerby, owner of Kerby Development LLC, plans a $40 million community called Scenic Greens with over 900 homes on 688 acres at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 290 and McGregor Lane, just west of Dripping Springs. The proposed development, which will leave almost 70 percent of open land and only four houses per acre, is the first since Dripping Springs passed its conservation development ordinance last year.

Kerby is set to close the purchase mid-fall and break ground by February. We expect home prices to start at $300,000. While homes will be in clusters of four, homeowners will overlook more than 450 acres of jointly owned open space.

"Everyone will be looking out their door at several hundred acres that they all own," Kerby said.
